Sherlock

When it comes to Holmes there can be only one for me (sorry Robert Downey) and that of course is Jeremy Brett. His sharp features, eagle like nose and his cat like grace and eccentricity is what I grew up with and what I will always think of when I picture the legendary detective.
I don't know what it is, I guess it's the death of Brian Jacques, but I've been thinking a lot about the creative heroes of mine who have passed on...I guess to keep to the rule of threes I should do a tribute to Frazetta next.
(Photoshop with that cool guoache brush from the last post, 1.5 hrs.)

  1. Really nice work, Chris. I'm impressed. This is a very natural and beautoful approach you have developed, here. I think you should definitely keep doing this. You're heading in the right direction, man. And I agree, Brett was decidedly the better Holmes.

I am particularly enamoured of the light you have used, here. The colour palette is wonderful. Those blues are striking against those warmer tones. Looks like I'm gonna have to step it up and start some pastel sketches :P Seriously, good job, Chris. I am so proud of your work. It's amazing that we are here, at this point. I am proud to be your peer. You give me a run for my money and keep me sharp, man. Thanks for keeping me reaching beyond myself. You're an awesome artist.

  2. Thanks, man! I'm really enjoying doing just little quick sketches, even if they aren't "real" pastels, you're the art warrior here and you have the "colorful" lungs to prove it, lol! I've been loving your daily sketches too, great stuff!
